Before the start, race organisers decided to remove a loop in the parcours around Saint-Quentin with the second KOM of the day, the Côte du Rte de St-Maximin. During the race, it was also decided to cancel the third KOM of the day, the Côte des Concluses, and to shorten the stage by another 16 km.
