Ook vannacht werd in Nieuw-Zeeland het nationale kampioenschap op de weg betwist. Na 2006, 2011 en 2013 was Hayden Roulston voor de vierde keer de beste. De Nieuw-Zeelander bezorgde zijn nieuwe ploeg Trek Factory Racing haar eerste officiële zege door zijn vluchtmakkers Jack Bauer (Garmin Sharp) en Tom Davison te kloppen in een sprint met drie.
