Stage 9 Malemort - Ussel (185.0km)

The last day before the rest day is a true hilly stage, but the riders still face only one categorized climb. With 3,500 meters of elevation gain, a sprint finish is highly unlikely.

The start takes place Sunday in Malemort. Late in the morning, the riders set off on a 185-kilometer stage. The terrain rolls up and down all day as the riders wind their way north, with uncategorized climbs such as the Puy Boubou (2.8 kilometers at 4.1%), Côte de Lagleygeolle (5.2 kilometers at 3.9%), and Côte de Miel (6.6 kilometers at 3.9%).

Midway through the stage, the Côte de Naves (2.8 kilometers at 6.7%) and the Puy de Lachaud (3.6 kilometers at 5.3%) follow. After 105 kilometers, the Suc au May (3.9 kilometers at 7.7%) is the only categorized climb of the day.

In the final part of the race, several tough climbs still await. Consider the Mont Bessou (800 meters at 8.5%), located 24 kilometers from the finish, climbing at around eight percent for a full kilometer. The final hill is the Côte des Gardes (2.2 kilometers at 4.8%), 14 kilometers from the finish line.
