Als Nico Denz bergetappes gaat winnen, dan gaat het wel goed met de degradatie

Nico Denz op een HC col, lol. Kan blijkbaar goed tegen de hitte! Ook wel slim gereden, meeste vd klim in het wiel van Masnada wat op papier natuurlijk ook een veel betere klimmer is. Symphtieke kerel, komt op filmpjes altijd over als de sfeermaker vd ploeg. Kan ook nog hard trappen. Topoverwinning!

Voor de UCI ranking doet dit weinig. De huidige nummer 10 Nieuwenhuis met 51 punten word nu ingehaald door Nico Denz die op 63 punten komt.

Het goede presteren van Leknessund des te meer. Die staat nu 6e in GC (+60 van etappe) wat in een WT etappekoers bakken met punten vertegenwoordigt. En stond al in de top 10. Dus elk puntje extra is er ook echt 1 extra.

Als Leknessund morgen (mag starten en) de schade kan beperken, zit er een mooie eindprestatie in met een tijdrit

Arndt zal wellicht ook vertrekken naar een andere ploeg. Normaal een renner die zowel in aanvallen als voor de sprinter een belangrijke rol kan vervullen. Daarnaast gewoon weer goed op dreef dit seizoen.

En bol, Combaud, AKA, Nieuwenhuis, Donovan zijn einde contract. Als je dan zo graag wat wil toevoegen doe het dan volledig ChefNagel

Secret pro is begin deze maand niet zo positief over DSM. Het is wel een raar verhaal: hoezo wil Arensman onder zijn contract uit? Dus ik denk dat we dat over Bardet ook met een korreltje zout moeten nemen. Maar het tweede gedeelte lijkt wel waar.

“The latest rider rumoured to want out of his DSM contract is Thymen Arensman. Will Bardet be next? My guess is yes. He’s a seriously lovely guy, one of the only Frenchies I chat with. I hope he gets to a team that isn’t built like some kind of locked-in cult. From what I know, you get on the squad, and you’re not allowed any outside form of coaching, sports nutrition advice, nothing like that. De secret pro lijkt me een beetje in de war, want Thymen Arensman was toch zonder contract voor 2023? Dus die wil helemaal niet ‘onder zijn contract uit’ maar heeft gewoon voor Ineos gekozen (voor welke reden dan ook).

Ik heb overigens geen hoge pet op van die stukjes van de The Secret Pro en ik vraag me regelmatig af of het überhaupt wel een echte pro is, of dat die verhaaltjes gewoon uit de dikke duim van een redacteur komen.

In theorie zou Arensman dit seizoen al van team kunnen willen veranderen (maar hij zal vast uitdienen).

Het stukje ervoor nog voor de context. Bardet heeft weliswaar bijgetekend, maar wil toch weg, aldus de TSP. Gek verhaal.

If you caught the final images of him climbing into the back of the Team DSM car and being sick before getting in, you might think that was down to his bad stomach. I have an alternative theory that it was actually just the thought of a) his plans going down the plughole, and b) him having to climb into a DSM team car. Let me explain.

If you remember back to last season, Bardet was flicked by his then-new team and not taken to the Tour de France as he had a difficult spring. Now he’s in his second year with the team and seems (up until stage 14) to have been having a terrific season. He won the Tour of the Alps and was performing outstandingly well in the opening week of the Giro. So is that down to things clicking at DSM for him? I wouldn’t be so sure.

Sure, he’s signed to the team until 2024, but I bet he’s putting on a great show in the hope that a few teams will take notice – so when he eventually wants to give DSM the flick sometime this season, someone will want to snap him up. It’s not uncommon for riders to jump from this team mid-season. It speaks volumes about how much the team infrastructure sucks if a rider is willing to say ‘fuck it’ to a WorldTour team and the money that comes with it.”

Team DSM’s Liane Lippert climbs to German national road race success

After winning the title in 2018, Team DSM’s Liane Lippert claimed her second German road race championships today on a challenging and climb-filled route.

Supported by teammate Franziska Koch, Lippert split the race up on one of the early climbs, catching the lone attacker and forming a group of five out front. Working well together, the group extended their gap and would ultimately fight it out for the win. Using experience that belies her relatively young age, Lippert bided her time and followed the attacks before unleashing a strong uphill kick to claim the win in the sprint; raising her arms aloft in jubilation.

Welke koersen had hij na Zwitserland nog moeten rijden dan? Lijkt me dat hij wel toe is aan een rustperiode om goed de tweede seizoenshelft in te gaan.

DSM kennende houden ze opties open, maar ook die van het klassement laten lopen. Maar het zou best kunnen dat Bardet heel lang hoog blijft staan. Of weer op het podium terecht komt.
